I heard Khannouchi was supposed to run the Chiba Ekiden in Japan this coming weekend and even had an appearance deal with the organizers. They announced the U.S. team today. No Khalid. Does anybody know what his health status is? The Trials will be here soon and even a 2:05 guy's going to need some training to win in Birmingham.

Re: Khannouchi?
Assuming these are the most recent entries, Khannouchi is not on the U.S. team. Ethiopia looks to have a really strong squad, except for their anchor. Japan tough as always. The Kenyans have a few studs and a few unknown young'uns.

Khannouchi plans on running the U.S. Marathon Trials in less than 4 months. He claims it's the most important marathon of his life.

This is shaping up to be a very interesting race. According to the form chart, there are four top contenders vying for the three spots: Khannouchi, Culpepper, Kheflezghi, and Browne.
And there is always the potential come-from-nowhere stud who knocks 2-3 minutes off his best time and the wile hiding-in-the-weeds veteran.
Should be fun. Wonder how much we'll get to see on television...?
