Lausanne usually produces super fast times so the mens 200m could be extremely fast with Gay, Bolt and Spearmon.
Also, Kluft up against Barber in LJ.

Unfortunately, the weather isn't looking too great. In fact, it looks shit.

You must not be a distance runner at heart. 9/12 degrees certainly will not make for overheating in the 5000. Maybe for once they will get a super 5000 (but probably no 19.6x times unless it is +4mps wind).

I love distance running but 12C is cold. It's likely to be about 10C by the time the meeting takes place and that might be a little cold for distance runners. Besides, there is only one distance race and the cold weather affects all of the events.

Looks like some pretty good fields, Looking forward to see what KD can do in his first major international 800 race of the season, and hopefully in the 5k Ritz and Tegenkamp can throw down some good times. Not looking for fast times in the sprints but the competition should still be very exciting.

I'm a distance guy, but unless it's a marathon, 12°C is freezing temperature for a track race in my book!

Looking forward to the women's middle distance races - Sob trying an 800 v Mutola, Jepkosgei and Sinclair (should give her a good idea as to whether she wants to try the double in Osaka), and without her and Fomenko still a strong Russian presence v Jamal in the 1500 (and hopefully Lishchynska's first sub-4).
Interesting to see Cheruiyot in that 15 after going under the old 5k WR... also, the 8 should also be a good race for Simpson to improve her PB.

FAO Nevetssllim: Tereshchuk-Antipova is indeed running the hurdles not the flat 400, this is her season's debut.

I thought so. This must be the first time there is a 'B' women's 1500m final as well as an 'A' final because surely they can't cram 24 women into one race!

Hopefully Jemma can squeeze under 2:00 and Michael Rimmer can duck under 1:45 plus I can't wait to see Mutola race again.

How f****** annoying! Tomorrow 12C, Saturday 31C

At least the weather for Rome and Sheffield (thank God) is nice!

Do we think any of the stud sprinters will drop out for fear of muscle pulls in the cold?

Or will they pick up appearance fee $$

Why the hell is Marlon Devonish what is essentially a 'B' race in Lausanne? if I were Mr. Devonish, I'd be feeling a bit hard done by.

Too bad the weather wont cooperate. First meeting between Stefan Holm and Donald Thomas. Should be interesting none the less.

The 200m has to be the pick of the races whether you like the sprints or not.

It will be interesting to see if bolt can put some pressure on gay after his 19.75 at the jamaican nationals and of course spearmon may have something to say about it.
