Already posted but I love a Kluft thread!!!

Why is Turinesh in your top 3??? (just curious).

Kluft is number one for me(of athletes currently competing). Angela Whyte is another super sweet person just not as high profile.

Love Mottram at the moment just cos he has balls! :P :P

I can see that just like the young pauthefan of decades past Caroline has the immense burden of good looks to deal with:

"If you feel strong about yourself on the inside you don't have to care about being good-looking. I mean - what is that whole deal with this good-looking stuff? It's enough already."

our hearts go out to the flaxen headed prodigy.
... nothing really ever changes my friend, new lines for old, new lines for old.

i love turinesh because she's AMAAAAAAAAZING and aslo because she had her hair in an afro puff at the olympics. which reminded me of a betty wright record that flump used to have

not the best of reasons i agree ops:

        i also love

janeth kipkosgie because it's about time we had a great kenyan woman and i think she could be it. (not so sure after tonight)

all RUS 1500 runners for churning out the time (sob and Formy) and for brunging it when it counts (tommy)

susanna kallur for having the best technique i've seen for years

all HJ for having the highest quality event the best copm i can remenber at euros last year and all being impossibly beautiful

and valerie villi for looking like a thrower should and being proud of it

lol...poor guy....happened to some soccer players in the German Bundesliga as well....he pulled up his pants....and we could see his whole family planning....

To Klüft.....I don´t see all the hype about her ....I mean her athletic abilities aside...cos she´s off the hook........But watching her compete making those faces is just plain annoying to me. It´s not funny...to me it looks more like a cramp

I love Kluft too - despite the disconcertingly small head. I was at Lausanne last night (freezing my bollocks off) and was also struck by Lebedeva's rapport with the crowd. Great motivation to pull out a big LJ (considering the conditions)on her 12th jump of the evening.

Saw Carolina walking around Madrid during the EIC and she looks quite different off the track than on. She was wearing a plain old duffel coact, no makeup etc. She looked shy and just.... well ordinary. See her a few hour laters on the track and she commands attention with her presence.

I like that she isn't all glammed up like so many of the female stars.

Tia Hellebaut is the same- love her too.

Flump and Mump- get thee to Brussels- we have a lot of catching up to do!

It looks like it is "The Shell", the Wisconsin indoor track. They are running in lanes and I am guessing that it is a 600/800/1000 and that this is the first turn (the background is looking from the end of turn 1 down into the turn. In the foreground is Joe Detmer (7950+ 2nd at NCAAs), he looks like his soph or junior years so, and it is probably the indoor meet with four or five teams, often Indiana State is one. If you look at the picture, you will also see that the fellow in question is on the lane line and probably should have gotten a DQ
