Wow!! The suspense was killing me. The real Alan Webb showed up. Thanks Walt.

My guess was in the most optimistic (fastest) 11 percentile of Walt's contest, and Webb's new AR landed him in the upper 13 percentile. 87% of you misunderestimated him.

Fantastic! I knew he could do it weather permitiing, and that obviously held. 8th fastest of all time =3.30.00. Anybody have lap times ?

In a sport that sometimes suffers from over-hype, it isn't often that someone actually delivers the goods. Well done, Alan!

Think of the turn around for AW from last year to this!!! I'll let this be encouragement for those of us who are languishing this year in our running like I am....there's always hope.

He can beat the old 1500m AR very soon.

I thought with the right conditions he could get down below 3:47. I predicted 3:46.50, so he was just above it. In my book, anytime you surpass Seb Coe's PB, you've just elevated yourself into "great" status.

"Whats next?" Given Webb's "track" record, maybe a 3:38 1500 -- but there I go again, a congenital skeptic.
