    Huesden 3000m Steeplechase

The results from both the mens and womens races where very interesting with the large number of big PB. Sure the weather and the competition was conducive, but are there other reasons so many can hit it big in the same race. In most International Races this does not happen. I know that in many situation promoters set up races to be fast and many run times they never ran before and can not run again. Also after these race many runner are placed under pressure to run these times again in championship races and can not. Does anyone have any opinions on how we should translate these results.

    PB curve at Huesden.

    Men: Women:
    1. + 8.92 1. + 27.27
    2. + 7.73 2. + 9.56
    3. + 4.42 3. + 3.75
    4. - 1.26 4. + 10.19
    5. + 16.94 5. + 9.72
    6. + 11.99 6. - 3.24
    7. + 5.29 7. + 2.35
    8. + 6.27 8. + 2.53
    9. + 7.10 9. - 4.22
    10. + .44 10. + 6.22
    11. + .27 11. + 6.86
    12. + 6.67 12. + 29.77
    13. - 3.75 13. - 17.03
    14. - 9.81 14. + 6.21
    15. - 9.50 15. - 6.51
    16. - 5.47 16. - 4.15
    17. - 3.31 17. - 10.76

Many PB and quite a few not long from one, just about all who missed a PB where down on the result list.

Great result by Mustafa, he could well take a medal in Osaka.
It is not a European record, but it is indeed 2nd all time. Pretty good indeed.
