This is the third time she's tried for the WR - the two other occasions being Doha and Madrid.

And it's her 10th outdoor competition (13th in whole of 2007) over 2m! Last athlete to notch up that many was Bergqvist in 2002.

Blanka was named after Casablanca, Morocco, a city where her father competed at the Mediterranean Games around the time of her birth.
Joško Vlašić's decathlon personal best, set in 1984, still stands as the Croatian national record; the two are a rare example of father and daughter simultaneously holding athletics national records.

That woud be Iolanda Balas of Romania who was 1.85 (6' 1"). Greatest female HJer of all time. Jumped 1.91 (shade over 6' 3") in 1961 using a technique that was a cross between the Scissors and the Eastern Cut-off.

Tallest male WR holder is Buddy Davis at 6' 8" (2.03)
