New TJ superstar?

Olga Rypakova of Kazakstan won the Asian title last week with 14.69, just off the Asian record. Now this would be an excellent performance under any circumstances, but I looked her up on Tilastopaja, and she doesn't seem to have ANY prior results at all in TJ :shock:

Rypakova has up to now been primarily a multi eventer with a heptathlon best of 6122 and a good jumper (1.92 HJ, 6.63 LJ). Has she now finally found the right event for her? I wouldn't bet against her medalling in Osaka...

Why not? That would be a good bet. Or would her odds on winning a medal be better than evens? I doubt it.
