It was 4.87, since she'd passed at 4.82.

I assume Isi passed at 4.87. So now that she's got it won, she can ask for any height she wants. We'll see if she goes directly to 5.02 or takes a shot at an intermediate height first.

Dunno. I haven't been able to find any quotes from her yet. Hopefully she's just saving herself for Moscow on Sunday.

It doesn't shed a whole lot of light, but an AFP story about the meet says:
Yelena Isinbaeva won the women's polevault with a height of 4.82m despite suffering from a stomach injury with compatriot Svetlana Feofanova in second place with 4.76m.
If "true", I hope it's just a bug and not an actual injury.

Yes. Previous best-for-place for 4th was 4.62m. Last night 4.70m was only good enough for 4th. On only four other occasions outdoors has 4.70m been good enough for third place.

                      Likewise, Badurova's/Shuying's 4.60m was a new best-for-place for 5th and Polnova's 4.60m was a new best-for-place for 7th. Murer's and Hingst's 4.50m and 4.40m were just outside the best-for-place marks for 8th and 9th.

This was certainly one of the best competitions for depth of all-time!

Feofanova cleared 4.76 on her 13th jump of the competition. Stuczynksi had 2 jumps when the bar reached 4.82. Great confidence, and not enough jumps to get her sufficiently warmed up for 4.82?

Acutally Sveta cleared 4.70 on her 10th. Her 4.76 clearance was the 13th of her 16 jumps yesterday.

Here’s my translation of a brief excerpt from a larger article posted yesterday on the Спорт-Экспресс website about Sunday’s “Russian Challenge” meet in Moscow:
The last sportswoman remaining in the stadium was the famous Yelena Isinbaeva, who having already won the competition attempted to overcome 4.95. In spite of the enthusiastic support of the spectators, the world record-holder was unsuccessful. Consequently Isinbaeva won the tournament, as almost no one doubted, with only two jumps - at 4.60 and 4.80. “It’s possible that I didn’t make 4.95 today because I literally flew in the day before from London, where by the way, I was close to withdrawing from the tournament. I had [food] poisoning and felt very badly,” described the Olympic champion. “But now everything is already back to normal, and I thank the Moscow public for the support.”
So I guess that explains why she just put her poles away after 4.82 in London.
