    Fleshman over Pavey 8.43.93 PB

Fleshman kicked at 200 to go, Pavey tried to go with her but didn't have it. Jamison for 3rd, left in the dust with 200 to go.

Nicely timed run from Fleshman. Who's the guy commentator? Someone needs to tell him they're not competing for gold medals at this meet.

Good times throughout (e.g., 8:58 PR for Huddle), and fast last 1000; someone said that Jo was pushing the pace early, but if they had gone 2:55/5:48, they might have run 8:3x.

and what about that comment the guy made about ... something like "I'm trying to think of a time for this event ... 9:15? They'll have trouble breaking 9 ..." or something like that. Man, pretty poor.

The guy's in there to make the viewers seem comfortable with their ignorance. i can't think of any other reason why he'd be there otherwise. He brings nothing to the table apart from stating the obvious and bloopers.

Hey, this is a huge win for Fleshman!! Has she ever won a race at this level before? I think her win, along with Hoffa's put and Isi's quitting, is one of the biggest stories of the meet. Go girl!! (Ran smartly, stayed on the curb, timed her kick perfectly...)

No mention for Steph Twell? She set a UK age-17 best with this run (she was born Aug '89 - still another year left as a junior). If she was USAnian, this would have been a big improvement on the national junior record.

This is the same girl who won the Euro Junior XC title, the Euro junior 1500m silver and has set multiple UK records - 1500m youth best (4:12.76); 1500m age-17 best (4:10.71); junior HM record (77.27).

Very surprised by the lack of pacemaking in this race.
