      jamaica 4*100m

Sadly it looks like the Jamaican 4* 100m womens team is toast this year. Only VC is heading into WC with any sprint form. Kerron Stewart has peaked....Aleen Bailey is a shadow of her former self Sherri Ann Brooks is not in her form of trials.

On the other hand the USA team depth seems to be expanding by the day.

I am curious to see Sanya Richards form at WC in the 200m. She may well be in shape for gold.

Sanya was superb! In this form she will run Felix real close in Osaka...
"If Gaby worked as hard with the weights as she did with her tongue she'd have a different concept of beauty. To get performances like mine, she'd have to sacrifice some of her good looks. The women of the west dont work as hard as we do" JK

so sanya & felix have virtually identical 100 ability & sanya has far superior 400 endurance

logically, you'd think sanya woud be significantly better than felix over 200 ?!

I have to give Sherone Simpson khuddos for trying to get into form for the WC this late in the season. 11 75 then 11.61. Courageous effort!

I always felt Felix was better than what she has bene giving us in the 100. She seems to get left in the blocks.

I would very much like to see some sub 22 performances by Richards and Felix at the WC. VC has the power.....but remains to be seen if she has the stamina to pull it off and join those ladies in the 21 +sec club.

Jeez, currently watching the W100, the starter is holding the gun way to long.

I thought she had already been running Felix real close.

if sanya runs a hard curve, it seems almost certain now she will go <22 in osaka, perhaps even close to 21.90 on that track

i think now, she's just marginally behind felix for favoritism

With an 'average' wind of 1.0, SR goes sub-11 (~10.98-)

In the 200, some of the speed/endurance advantages can be miminized by curve-running ability. Felix fights the turns as little as anybody I can recall.

                            that may be the crux

sanya as a 400 runner, runs a lot of curves, but no need in her speciality to run them virtually "flat-out" & as close to the line

if she currently loses about 1m on the curve to felix, that woud probably equate to the difference in their pbs

Yeah, hate to break your heart, but you can't always put a formual to human achievement.

if felix is running 200m & sanya ~ 201 - 201.5, then you probably coud
