Here are the results into the 3rd round of the mTJ, note that the first mark is the best so far, not another mark and it does not list the wind in that 'column'.

Now finished, Wilson almost caught Oprea on the last jump, but Oprea's -1.8 jump deserved it.

Randy Lewis just injured himself on the hop, he is in pain in the pit.

      aarik with very inconsistent series

      4 rubbish jumps, a foul & a 17.27

he needs to find some consistency to back up that recent 17.58

He's got meets of 17.41, 17.30, 17.28 and 17.26 this year; it's not as if the 17.58 makes complete no-sense.

oh i have no doubt about his ability - he is a monster talent & i think he'll go 18m in the near future

it's just i'd like to see him put some solid numbers together in his meets ( like olly does )

if he does not get nervous in osaka he will medal, maybe even win if he duplicate his 17.58 effort. i dont think lewis and sands will be factors (they both got injured today), gregorio and the cuban have not had any big jumps since may or june and olson has not had many meets this year.

Good job for Marian Oprea. For those who don t know he s coming back out of endless injuries, weeks spend in clinics and such. He s just come into half practicies for the past month. As for Wilson beeing a huge talent.....for some reason I am always suprprised by him...but only because he manages to jump so much with such a rudimentary poor "ugly" technique-in my humble opinion. I am not saying he could jump more once he changes that, just that I am personally amazed....
As always in this event (and others) health and injury wil be the determinat factor for the medals.....

Gregorio took four jumps at the Pan-Ams. They ranged from 17.04 to 17.27 on a miserable cold, rainy day on a wet runway. Maybe no "big" jumps, but I'd say he's ready.
