Only the Kenyans could leave a sub 8 guy at home. Maybe he'll be told to come to training camp!

And kilometer splits. Obviously DN Galan did not consult TAFN for event management.

So clarify for me: was this Taher's Junior debut or Senior debut?

... and Slattery now is the top US steeplechaser of this season. Current two fastest US steeple people (Slattery, Olinger) not going to Osaka.

Just like the w400, where the two best (if not quite two fastest) are not in the open 400. However, they get a relay, where there is no 4x3000SC.

If you can't get the job done at Nationals you don't deserve to run at worlds, period.

                  I agree with malmo......... 99%.

The missing 1% is that they stage the stupid meet too early!

Like all the other major powers, should be a month later, but that would make too much sense.

it was kenyan trials in '92 & kiptanui, who was already '01 champ, failed to qualify thru illness/injury

he set 3k wr after games & as you well remember, a ~ 13'01 with disgraceful pacing - he was effectively 5k wr holder that year

he wouda certainly won 3ksc in barcelona & almost as easily the 5k with a last 5 laps in close to 5'00
