Somebody asked me on the phone today how I could stand the heat. I replied, truthfully, that I hadn't been outdoors all day and didn't plan to. My house is air-conditioned. Heat? What heat?

You run, I hide. Chacun à son goût.

      In KC right now:

      Temp: 94
      Heat Index: 104
      Dewpoint: 74

Our lows at night are bordering on 80. Smells just hang in the air when we reach this kind of saturation. Previous poster was right; it feels like there is no air in the air.

Racing in this stuff sucks beyond description.

        Current conditions:

        97.2°F
        Haze
        Humidity: 41%
        Dew Point: 70°F
        Wind: 0.0 mph

So your choices are pool or house - that's it. I'll go out at 7pm and run some 200s at the park and jump back in the pool.

                Osaka? north Florida?

In coastal N. Carolina as of 4 PM (local) it was:
                Temp: 99
                Dewpoint: 79
                "Heat Index": 117
                Wind: SW 6

I've hit the well-iced Scotch 'n' water early today.

Haven't a clue (bad knees). But I was out in my solo canoe for 40 minutes this morning. Two or three kayaks were also out.

I think the east coast is sucking all the heat from the west coast. Here in northern California its only:

                            85 degrees
                            humidity 36%
                            dew point 55%

85 may seem hot for some, but when summers in the Sacramento valley routinely stay in the 90s-100s territory with high humidity, 85 with 36 humidity feels like a winter wonderland.

A few days ago we had a high

                              Temp 87F
                              Dew Point 55F
                              RH 21%

with the overnight low about 50

Although that eastern mess is actually anything east of Colorado so we are now at

                              Temperature 84°F
                              Humidity: 63 %
                              Wind Speed: E 5 MPH
                              Barometer: 29.85" (1010.2 mb)
                              Dewpoint: 70°F (21°C)
                              Heat Index: 88°F (31°C)
