Still, the Miller High Life was much appreciated afterwards.
Why did you punish yourself after running that long run in the heat??[/quote:2y3rqupz]You must realize I'm an AFL-CIO member who grew up in the shadow of Toledo's Jeep plant. The choice of beer is not only a cultural requirement, but probably a contractual one was well.[/quote:2y3rqupz]
What does Miller High Life have to do with beer? :P
I haven't been able to run for three weeks so I don't notice the heat. Leaving the physio the other day and the lady says "Don't melt out there." I honestly didn't know what she was talking about.

I'm a union member myself. I have to go read our contract - I'd hate to be written up for drinking the wrong brew!!

I am also in the northern part of Ohio. A 75-minute run in our "heat index" of 101 wasn't so bad when I was able to stay out of the sun. Still, the Miller High Life was much appreciated afterwards.
In KC right now:
Smells just hang in the air when we reach this kind of saturation. .
It's amazing what the senses pick up n adverse weather changes. Also, have you ever noticed you can "smell" snow in the air before an impending snowstorm?
Back to the topic, the highest recorded dew point on the planet is 95 degrees.
It's nice to go back to the future, March 20 2007, when I said wait for July or August when, if we get lucky, we'll see dew points that almost duplicate the miserable conditions in Mombasa. Now go out and race 12k in this crap.
Factoid of the day: it's now the cool season in Mombasa with highs 80-81 degrees.
I'm still winning the dewpoint competition! Can anybody beat 74?
See above (it was dewpoint=81 at 2 and 3 PM).
You win! But I'm gaining; we're now at:
Temp: 97
Heat Index: 109
Dew Point: 76
There is a family from Denmark moving in across the street from us in a few days. They are going to hit these conditions and wonder how they ended up in Hell compared to what they're used to.
I think the east coast is sucking all the heat from the west coast. Here in northern California its only:
85 degrees
humidity 36%
dew point 55%
85 may seem hot for some, but when summers in the Sacramento valley routinely stay in the 90s-100s territory with high humidity, 85 with 36 humidity feels like a winter wonderland.
Do you think they're a bunch of rubes who've never seen niggles before last year? It goes with the territory, most of them go away, a few of them don't.
Voldemort wants to get rid of all niggles!
Somewhere, someone is going to call you a racist for using the N-word.
