  • Giving Thanks

In the track world, thanks for
    1. A track message board that's not filled with junk
    2. Like-minded individuals who get excited about silly stuff like reaction times and who got third in the Zurich 1500.
    3. fighting the uphill battle against drugs
    4. trivia
    5. a sport where the best have to be at their best just to compete

feel free to add more, but no negatives today.

Yep, the IAAF board is great, isn't it?!

            1) The Internet for quick meet results instead of waiting weeks or months. The Internet for message boards where one can discuss track and field instead of hockey, baseball, football, basketball or wrestling.

            2) World Championships 3 out of 4 years instead of once.

            3) A growing sport whose stars now include many smaller countries who, in the not-too-distant past, weren't on the track and field map at all.

4)Technology proceeding at such a fantastic pace that it still inspires hope for a cheat-free sport within the next hundred years.

              Re: Giving Thanks

Today I give thanks for a wonderful sport that allowed me a college education, a chance to see the world, and a way out of a hard life in a small blue-colar town. Track and field has had a positive influence on nearly every good thing in my life. For that, I give eternal thanks.
And joy. Lots and lots of joy.

                Dear Jon,

Culled from the IAAF board (and I quote verbatim):

"Hey dooshbags! Alright Kez, it's proper Bo i tell thee! Ohhhh me mi**e is kicking up a right whiff! i'm a right scary bas*ard! Proper Crimbo sorry"

                I rest my case.
