Unless there are relays not being run (4x110 yards, 38.6, last set by USC in 1967), then aren't all records theoretically in Jeopardy?

Whatever happened to the IAAF's idea, several years ago, of a World Championships in relays? How low could these go?

Well, I expect a few junior records will go down:

WJ 200m: Usain Bolt, Allyson Felix
AJ 400m: Sanya Richards
WJ Indoor Best 200/400: Sanya Richards
WJ 4x100: US Junior (women)

The womens 4x100 by the USA with the right team.
The mens 4x100 by the USA with the right team.
I think both 4x400 records are safe.
The collegiate womens 4x100 and 4x400.

The women's 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 are definitely in jeopardy. LSU brings back their entire squad for all three relays, so you know they are loaded and capable. Texas and South Carolina will be a threat to the 4x400 record. I don't see either squad beating LSU in the short-relays.

Personally I can't think of anything better than a top notch international relay carnival, particularly involving a 4x200.

Actually, Jamaica has a shot at that 4x100 girls WJ record if everyone stays healthy

This is true, but of course, I favor the US girls. With Shalonda, Jessica O., and Kristen Lacy and a few others who can run a good leg, I think we can do it!

If i remember correctly they had the sprint med at indoor worlds and made for an interesting mix.............but to have all those relays at a worlds would be extrodinary because u look at the 200 and 800 people have something to tlook forward for whatever reason there individual event bottoms out....and yeah it would look a like a good old fashion sprin carnival just in the summer..........think on it...it could change the face of the world championships

I think the person was referring to a WC soley for relays, maybe in an off year, or earlier in the season or something. I heard something about that as well, the event would be soley relays. I think it is a great idea since I am a relay fanatic. It's like an advanced version of the Penn Relays! I would love to see what type of teams each nation would field. I like the thought of the event.
