I suspect, however, that Vancouver without garbage pickup is still cleaner than a number of cities I can think of with their routine garbage pickup.

i remember the story told me that they used to film movies in toronto -- standing in for NYC -- but they'd buy garbage to toss around the streets before shooting. then they 'd clean it up, but it'd still be cheaper than shooting in NYC.

speaking of vancouver, i love how that jackie chan movie "rumble in the bronx" was shot in vancouver. in the chase scenes, you can see in the background those rolling green hills of the bronx...

I was completely unable to access any part of the T&FN site from Monday evening (my time) until now (Thu am my time) - I have been getting 'cannot be found' errors whatever url I use (whether the homepage, boards, bookmarked lists, bookmarked discussions). Complete cold turkey!

Clearing browser cache tends to bypass that error stage once server is up and re-running.

I do that hourly - I tried everything, no access of any sort until now. But I'm happy now!

It was a DNS server issue; 48 hours later and our e-mail still isn't completely right. all kinds of things floating in the ether out there, coming back to earth in random order.

My UK (London) connection worked yesterday, whilst the other poster:s did not. I "shredded" my cache with McAfee (as standard when I turn off the computer), and it worked. This evening, however, the pages are all loading very slowly.
