Bruin Track Announces National Letter of Intent Signees
Head Coach Jeanette Bolden has received five and Head Coach Art Venegas has received two National Letters of Intent for the Fall signing period. Jolanda Diego, Chad Dunn, Megan Jamerson, Allison Miller, Claire Rethmeier, Joel Tuosto and Elizabeth Woepse will join the Bruins as true freshmen in 2004.
Diego (Oceanside, CA), a sprinter, attends El Camino High School. She was the San Diego area CIF champion in the 100m (11.89) and 200m (23.84). At the 2003 California State Meet, she placed fourth in the 200m (23.84) and seventh in the 100m (11.95). In 2002, she placed seventh in the 200m (24.47, 24.38Q) and eighth in the 100m (12.21, 12.01Q) at the California State Meet.
Dunn (Seal Beach, CA) attends Los Alamitos High School. At the 2002 California State Meet, he ran the first leg of Los Alamitos' 4x100m relay that placed ninth in 42.11. Dunn will compete in the 100m and 200m for the Bruins next season.
Jamerson (Trabuco Canyon, CA), a pole vaulter, attends Santa Margarita High School. At the 2003 California State Meet, she tied for seventh, clearing 12-0.
Miller (Los Altos, CA) attends Los Altos High School. At the 2003 California State Meet, she tied for third in the high jump at 5-8.
Rethmeier (Escondido, CA) attends San Pasqual High School. In 2003, she won the state 3200m title, finishing in 10:27.32. In cross country, she won the San Diego CIF title and placed second overall in 17:27 at the State Championships. In 2002, Rethmeier placed 10th in the 3200m in 10:58.36 at the California State Meet.
Tuosto (Greenfield, CA) attends Greenfield High School. At the 2003 California State Meet, he placed fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 48-10. He was the Mission Trail Athletic League's long jump champion. In 2002, he placed 13th in the preliminary round of the triple jump with a jump of 45-4.25, but did not advance to the final.
Elizabeth Woepse (Santa Ana, CA) attends Mater Dei High School. In 2003, she tied for fourth in the pole vault at the California State Meet, vaulting 12-4. In 2002, she vaulted 11-9 at the California State Meet, placing ninth.
