"Patrick gave us a very good performance his freshman year," Ereng said. "He had some low back pains that slowed him for a bit. Last year he was not 100 percent. He was not the Patrick we knew. Now he is almost running to his fullpotential, improving every week. We are excited about that."

And UTEP coach Bob Kitchens said, "Patrick's freshman year he was really good in both track and cross country. He went into a little slump. He is out of it now andreally running well. He is on top of his game. Patrick is a good young man, a good student and has been good to work with."
