"I will then sell your knee caps on ebay."

Someone in Germany will buy them quick.

Regular Guy, my neighbor is living your dream life...every time I drive by his house in the evening he's working on his car in the garage with the tv on...to each their own I suppose.

    Not so fast.

I already thought about you. So I invested $4300 into a special-made Winchester Russian Sniper Rifle. If you step foot onto my property, please be prepared for war.

I will then sell your knee caps on ebay.

    >250,000 USD is enough for me to pay cash for a three bedroom house with a two car garage. I would get a John Deere tractor to mow my acre of land. I would also get the entire Craftsman tool set with multi-drawer chest, so's I can work on my '79 Pontiac FB. I wound mount a T.V. in my garage for watching cable while I am working on my car. Last thing I would buy would be
a filter for blocking stupid posts from infiltrating my pc while on these forums. The rest I would spend on Memphis Grizzlies merchandise.<

Hey, you forgot something. You ain't gonna have no $250,000. Not after I get through with you.

I'm afraid I miss your point (other than 'lay off Webb'). MLB revenues are infinitely higher than USATF revenues, so the comparison makes no sense.

    What is 250,000 USD anyway?

You guys pay your baseball players much more than 250,000 USD just to be less than mediocre in your own country... high losses, many walks, high ERA, and etc.

These players would be marginally better in Japan or Korea, or Mexico than many (not all, not a majority) are in the American MLB. So 250K is not the end of the world... it is a start.

When you get an athlete in Athletics who runs 3.48/3.30 and is a world-player, he can increase the stakes, and help make athletics a viable means of earning salary and bonus.

If a (named) athlete makes 250K USD, and is near the top of the US food chain, give that athlete a chance to convert that talent and opportunity on the world stage.
Working...
