We most certainly will not 'Forget the Edwards story'.

She got busted and I don't for one moment believe her ridiculous story.

She's drug cheat .Get over it.

A well-known WADA problem is the inability to 'titrate', and Capel should be banned for life, right?

I have to say, I'm very much a "Flumpy" on the drugs issue for the most part but something about the Edwards story DOES make me err on the side of caution...it just seems WRONG somehow, don't ask me why.

What an absolutely POINTLESS post I've just made...

I think a re-reading of the IAAF release on the subject is perhaps in order here (boldfacing mine):

<<IAAF Council confirmed the decision to reinstate the US sprinter, Torri Edwards, subject to her completing a mandatory final reinstatement test.
Edwards had been suspended for 2 years in 2004 after testing positive for the prohibited stimulant, nikethamide. However, in September 2005, WADA downgraded nikethamide in the Prohibited List to the category of “Specified Substances” for which the sanction, provided that the athlete can demonstrate no intention to enhance performance, ranges from a public warning up to one year’s ineligibility.

Following an earlier CAS decision that Edwards did not intend to enhance her performance,
the IAAF confirmed her reinstatement on legal grounds (lex mitior). Ms Edwards has served a period of 15 months’ ineligibility, 3 months more than the maximum sanction
in such a case under the new Prohibited List.>>

So to sum up, from the get-go, even if you didn't buy her "ridiculous story" the powers-that-be did (but had no choice but to suspend). And in the interim, they decided that what she inadvertently took isn't a top-of-the-line substance anyway.

Oh, she's such a horrid criminal!

Put yourself in an imaginary situation

You took bronze to someone more talented than you. But both of you took PEDS. What a great realization!

Even taking PEDS she beat my bikini bottoms off! And now I get her medal and gotta give my bronze away.

Wow, what a great world. And it only took seven years for silver to replace bronze.

I think they should have gone all the way and given the medal to Marita Koch.

Thanou run today the 100 in 11.99 for the Greek clubs championships. At least it was less than 12 seconds!

By the way, Chalkia run 59.24 (!!), Devetzi jumped 14.70 and that guy Tsatoumas reached 8.05.

                    cheers
