The new issue is up on the front page - the cover is someone that has been there before (and boy, has he ever 'been there', lots of times).

It is a Real good cover photo.

Geb's face on cover 6 times now; tied w/ several, trails Lewis (13), Johnson (9) and Jones (9).

That seems about right -- notice that all those ahead of him not only had great and unique careers (Marion's with a problem), but were Americans, which gave them advantages in making the cover.

What is the all-time list for non-Americans?
      For (strictly) field eventers?
      For non-American, strictly field eventers?

What's the record for the number of times 1 person has appeared in a picture in the same issue?

Does that tie Geb with Webb with 6 covers?

Reminds me of the cover tally for race walkers, only 100-0.

I remember walk statistician Bob Bowman writing in after a certain 3:49 miler from New Zealand graced the January 1976 AOY issue that "finally there was a WALKER on the cover."

[I always loved that one by Bob.]

                Not so fast.

A photo of Henry Laskau breasting the finish line in winning the AAU walk championship was on the "cover" of the November 1951 (vol. 4, # 11,) T&FN.
