Ooohhh -- a 3-year cycle in Austin would make me SOOOO happy!
Of course, after the NCAA officials experience Texas June heat, we may never get it again.

SF Chronicle this morning reports that the decision will be made at Austin in June. Candidates (for a 3-year cycle) are Texas and Sac State.

Oregon can't host in 2005 but wants '06 & '07. It will be Austin or Sacramento in '05.

To the best of my knowledge, the NCAA will award the 2005-6-7 DI championships at the 2004 indoor meet in Fayetteville. The cities bidding are Austin, Sacramento, Eugene and Carson. There may be another candidate that I'm not aware of.

There will be three separate outdoor championship meets under the NCAA's umbrella, not just one.
