So how many OTHER 19.69 guys think that's not good enough to go (not that I don't blame him for thinkig that, with the likes of TG, WS, and the X out there)?

Where is that said or implied? I read/heard it as the collegiate 100m record is his main goal along with making the Olympic team...

I'd be happier if he said that his primary goal is being on the Olympic podium. I know he can't take the Trials for granted--not in the 100m. But he's good enough that he should be thinking about what he can accompish in Beijing, not just about what an achievement it would be to get there.

Dix should be a shoe-in for a medal in the 4x100 relay if he makes the team. Assuming that all of the likely names display top form in Eugene, who should make up the 4x100 team? If Gay can't do a better job than he did in Osaka, I would consider leaving him off and going with Holliday to X-man to Dix to Spearmon. It still amazes me that after 4 years of working with Spearmon, he still couldn't get it right.

Nowhere in that article does it state or imply that he is concentrating on the 100 for the OT.

It appears that Dix and Holliday will have their first showdown of the year on February 8.
