He was supposed to compete at Boise STate a couple of weeks back (the meet where Kilmartin broke 6000), but felt a hamstring pop during warmup so played it safe.

      Clay ends up with 6192 (6.77, 7.56, 15.91, 2.02, 7.74, 5.15, 3:06.39).

PBs in the shot and pole vault. Although it says that the sprint and hurdles events were over 55m - will this score therefore count as a 'normal' heptathlon?

The results sheet has 60 m listed as the distance for two pros (non-collegians), So I suspect that they ran it both ways in terms of distance. If not, then several of the collegians were better than Clay, and none of them are nearly as fast as he is. Seeing the 1000m time is interesting because last year Joe Detmer ran 2:29.1.

If Clay did run 55m, then 6.77 and 7.74 are pretty slow times for him.

Like you say, he must have competed over 60m - it would make more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

They were originally going to run the 55 in the dash and hurdles. For what? Nobody knows. Mouse or Rana Reider contacted the meet director to tell them that IAAF would not except Bryans marks if they were at 55m and apparently they took word.

By the way, incredible score considering he ran 3:06. He could of went 6350 if he put the throttle down!
