Currently only Williams and Nieto seem willing or able to do that. Why wouldn't a guy like Manson be over in Europe? If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

On a jump related note, Stefan Holm cleared 2.37m today in Malmo. For those of you needing metric assistance that is 7'9.25".If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

That's exactly right. The only time Austin & Conway stayed stateside was for the indoor nationals. Otherwise, they spent the entire winter in Europe and Scandinavia. Honestly, at this point, it's embarrasing when our jumpers head over to Europe.[/quote]
Not quite true.
In '91, when Conway ranked No. 1 in the world, he jumped in Hamilton (Ontario), Millrose, Mobil 1, Vitalis and TAC Indoor... had only a single Euro meet between Nationals and World title.
When Austin was No. 1 in '96, he jumped at Hamilton, Boston, Millrose, then went over to Banska Bystrica & Spala before coming back for World Air and Nationals.
