Currently only Williams and Nieto seem willing or able to do that. Why wouldn't a guy like Manson be over in Europe?
That's exactly right. The only time Austin & Conway stayed stateside was for the indoor nationals. Otherwise, they spent the entire winter in Europe and Scandinavia. Honestly, at this point, it's embarrasing when our jumpers head over to Europe.
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

i agree. hope that will soon change. i remember an article about manson shortly after he jumped his HSR 7'7" that said his lifetime goal was 8' 3". wouldnt it be nice?

Does manson have any sponsorship? If im not mistaken ive seen unattached next to all his latest comps. Could explain the lack of foreign travel.

On a jump related note, Stefan Holm cleared 2.37m today in Malmo. For those of you needing metric assistance that is 7'9.25".

                    Not quite true.

In '91, when Conway ranked No. 1 in the world, he jumped in Hamilton (Ontario), Millrose, Mobil 1, Vitalis and TAC Indoor... had only a single Euro meet between Nationals and World title.

When Austin was No. 1 in '96, he jumped at Hamilton, Boston, Millrose, then went over to Banska Bystrica & Spala before coming back for World Air and Nationals.

so then its not a big deal that our guys arent competeing in euro? they are just in a slump all their own then. maybe in order to go higher they need to be around uys that "go high". not men with the same PRs or worse.
