Yeah, but it's a shame that we lost the IDs of so many in the changeover, since we know that many (most?) of them were made by people now registered regular players.
Too bad that the handle used wouldn't carry forward. I realize that there is likely some complicated techie explanation why not.

    Aha, so you THOUGHT!!!
i think, given the nature of discussion on this thread, the following comments are in order..........

right... sure gabe is not that smart...

biking to south america is stupid.
if you want to losen your hips, fly, don't bike, to rio my friend.
you want to be fresh for your "dancing" instructor.

but you know what is really stupid?
not biking, not driving, not flying not walking or boating to rio.
gabe knows what he's doing, he just takes a roundabout way to get there.

of course the ultimate in cleverness is to have a brazillian wife,
instead of a twelve hour flight, you just have to walk across the room... for proper therapy.

"Rummaging through his parents' lush garden last week, Jennings plucked a bright orange flower.

He ate it. Then another. Then he devoured some wild raspberries, a primordial act that said he was home once again."

Good lord. Dude is a freak!

    Re: too much Gabe?

That article in the link was startling. It's like he is being drawn back to the primordial ooze or something. This is almost Carlos Castenada stuff at times. Who plays Gabe in the film version?

I think we should all wish him well on his journey. If he can even make the Olympic Team next year, that would be an achievement. Hell, if he could even make the 1500m final in the trials, it would be a sign of his talent. But we all know this little long strange trip of his has taken the edge off. Hopefully, he'll return to running, better than ever.

    Re: too much Gabe?

I seems like distance runing still garners a lot interest. The only threads on this forum to hit the big 100 are about milers.

Even though the US is not dominant in the mile anymore it is still considered the king of all track events.

Gabe's journey remains me of Corneal Kurtz's travels down the river of maddess in Apocalypse Now. It is ultimately a journey into self destruction. I hope Gabe does not return to us with a shaven head and muttering to himself "the horror, the horror".

Gabe's training method should not be recommended for emerging milers. You should not have to go mad to achieve miling greatest.

Geez, I was told 100 was the highest IQ you could have. I guess my 82 isn't so impressive now.
