Are you an adult. The basis of the comments are very accurate. Use your maturity to filter out the crap. The point of the post is that the active runners/athletes enjoy putting a drug cheater in her place. This is the message, if you are not currently competing I guess you would not understand.
The big question is; if you do not like the themes of the LetsRun message board , why are you lurking on it , and posting a current example in this forum?

well, let's see - we've got our unrepentant racists, we've got our everyone-else-is-a-racists, we've got the cluesless, factless, and tactless. Yup, that about sums up letsrun.

        Re: Feud's On!

I check it out every-so-often purely as an entertainment option. Some of the posts are very funny. And their name-calling puts our home grown specialists to shame. However, I did notice a thread there a few weeks ago that was mentioning my college. I asked who they were and ended up in email contact with one of my old team mates who I last spoke with in 1984. That was cool.

How is the LetsRun site any different than this Michael Lewis post in the " Supplements" Thread. This is the sickest crap I have every read on any site:

          Michael Lewis wrote

I'm 43 and teenagers have called me a fucking liar for saying my age and demanded to see my driver's licence. I can pass for 28 and not an ugly one either. So my genes are just fine. I'd love to see your sad face up against mine anyday, body too. Enjoy eating shit on your couch, could you provide us with umbrellas and towels the next time you have to belch? If you weren't so ugly maybe you could make it out in public. No, forget that.

You got me there, but there ARE fewer of those types here than there.

Actually Michael has done much better than that, especially when arguing with AI and her friend. They got deleted pretty quickly though. Letsrun has that stuff all over the place, in one of the ones linked above someone calls the originator the c word. Nice.

                Re: Feud's On!

it is amazing how fans of the sport get so excited and trash not only one-another but the athletes they watch. It is why athletes will not write on the boards because they are not interested in getting in a name calling rant with these so called fans. I my self was called all sorts of names simply because I happen to be a friend of Angella Issajenko. I love track and field and I have no interest in trashing anyone why cant we just watch the performances and cheer.may be then real athletes will get involved in the discussions. I invite people on this board to check out Charlie Fravcis forum where people talk about training programs and supplements. There is no name calling there . just athletes asking about their training in terms of whether they are on track.

                  Re: Feud's On!

I can't wait until the indoor season starts to get moving so we can focus on competition and not all this junk. The low ebb of the t&f (or athletics, if you please) season is certainly upon us and we're spitting at eat other because we're water at the mouth so heavily over the coming Olympic year.

Personally, I'd love to have all the good posters from letsrun on this board and all the good ones from the IAAF board too.

                        Re: Feud's On!

"you have to remember US is very insular & athletics gets a virtual zero tv/cable coverage,so they don't get to see the international stars like hitchi/geb etc. & so don't know a lot about them - & it takes a lot of effort to research & be familiar with someone you may have never seen on tv outside a WC or OG!"

I don't know why anyone's bashing this statement's author or the board it appeared on. IMO it's completely true. It's indisputable that T&F has virtual zero tv/cable coverage. Besides T&F News readers (all 25,000), very few Americans know or care about track & field or its international stars.

It would be nice to see UST&F address this continuing problem instead of showboating its probably-illegal, never-to-be-implemented "zero tolerance" policy.

A most noble sentiment. Agreed that the board does better the more we stay out of the ditch, myself included -although it would be just TOO June Cleaver if we couldn't have SOME fun with some of the performers on this board when they really ask for it!

                            Re: Feud's On!

I come read these boards 1 or 2 times a week generally, because I am a fan of this sport, whatever name we wish to call it.

It's the cutting edge info and opinions which I enjoy most.

The degeneration of my opinion/view is superior to someone elses ideas is interesting for a while but I quickly bypass posts as the devolute too far.

OK, I finally couldn't resist peeking at the IAAF site. They really are working themselves into a lather aren't they? My favorite post is from the Canadian who calls himself "Iggy" who in the process of slamming Americans in general says

<<Most of the posters are like the ''American'' above with little to say that is positive. Things are so bad on the T&FN site, that they had to ask this ''Michael Lewis''
ass to act like an adult.>>

Guess he doesn't realize that Michael Lewis is a Canadian, not an American! FDL!

OK, I held off all this time, thinking myself above getting into a pissing match with some other board, but I finally had to go look at what's going on. It is now the funniest thing in history! Early part of thread says that our board is bad because it degenerates into people calling each other names.

There's a major socio/religious flame war now going on based on the simple premise that TFN site sucks. Much traffic in last day. Check it out!
