Oh, you mean some of our Canadian posters--and you know who you are--decided to go and spill their waste over there?

    Feud's Off

Their admin pulled the thread about this board ....

".... a total degeneration of the discussion to a puerile and in many cases offensive tirade of racist comments" LOL

Well when you go back to the IAAF board please point out to them that while there's no shortage of nasty invective on this board, it's certainly not directed at that group of people like one of their posters tried to claim. I believe that her we reserve our trashing of other boards for letsrun and dyestat, and even that hasn't been heard much of late. Search for "IAAF board" on this site and you find things about intersting posts there I suspect.

I am here to ask for peace on behalf of the IAAF forum and I wich for us to get along and be good mates and to share informations and topics, I hope you all the best for the rest of the season and I hope to hear from you very soon.

Well I just peeked in there and based on a few comments alone, they are obviously a having a great little tea-party which I haven't been let in on until now. Pretty uptight, smug and condescending bunch. "Hello, hello" [pat on back, petty trans-Atlantic shot, kiss-kiss, on to the next person, repeat]

Nothing whatsoever to do with the prevailing international political climate, of course They sounded like a bunch of Vancouverites, for whom it is essential to feel superior to Torontonians in order to have a sense of identity. Extrapolate to Canada/US, or California/East Coast, you get the picture....what was it Saul Bellow said, oh yes "California is an artificial limb the rest of the country could do without"

All these ultra-cultured and wise Europeans would do well to brush up on their Greek philosophy, namely Socrates views' on parochialism.

I like the poster "Frenchy" who said

<<The TF&N magazine is written for the American reader. This is why the editoral staff conceded that the T&F News world rankings differ from the true IAAF ranking to allow American athletes on to the top 10 list.>>

Funny, I don't recall TFN making any such concession. Does anybody else?

Yeah, it's VERY ugly over there! 'Pot calling the kettle black' is a gross understatement. This site is Carnegie Hall, the Louvre, and the Shakespeare Library combined, by comparison...

OK, I held off all this time, thinking myself above getting into a pissing match with some other board, but I finally had to go look at what's going on. It is now the funniest thing in history! Early part of thread says that our board is bad because it degenerates into people calling each other names.

There's a major socio/religious flame war now going on based on the simple premise that TFN site sucks. Much traffic in last day. Check it out!

OK, I finally couldn't resist peeking at the IAAF site. They really are working themselves into a lather aren't they? My favorite post is from the Canadian who calls himself "Iggy" who in the process of slamming Americans in general says

<<Most of the posters are like the ''American'' above with little to say that is positive. Things are so bad on the T&FN site, that they had to ask this ''Michael Lewis''
ass to act like an adult.>>

Guess he doesn't realize that Michael Lewis is a Canadian, not an American! FDL!

I come read these boards 1 or 2 times a week generally, because I am a fan of this sport, whatever name we wish to call it.

It's the cutting edge info and opinions which I enjoy most.

The degeneration of my opinion/view is superior to someone elses ideas is interesting for a while but I quickly bypass posts as the devolute too far.

"I have no interest in trashing anyone why cant we just watch the performances and cheer"

A most noble sentiment. Agreed that the board does better the more we stay out of the ditch, myself included -although it would be just TOO June Cleaver if we couldn't have SOME fun with some of the performers on this board when they really ask for it!
