it appears usatf will no longer allow athletes to use a mile time to qualify for the 3k at this year's indoor champs. why do you think they removed this option?

It seems like something of a non-issue, because most meets (besides h.s.) now run the 3k, not the 2M. Maybe the purpose is to encourage rogue meets that still hold the 2M to fall in line and hold the 3k. -
