Just got my morning paper...sadly see that Charles Dumas died of cancer yesterday in Los Angeles; he was only 66.

thanks for the inclusion of that obituary; and that picture says it all. Looks like he's floating. And as an old straddler I still miss the beauty of it.
Brumel's style had a beauty and power of its own but Dumas was "prettier."
The Flop is definitely a better style to achieve higher heights but aesthetically (sp. ?) it's a bummer( IMHO ) compared to the Straddle.
