A LetsRun Thread had a link to pictures and she did not just pull up from feeling a twinge, but did a bit of the 'jump in the air' thing (although not as bad as some that I have seen). Still, it is a little hard to tell from a sequence of still shots.

That analogy with Skipper does work a whole lot better... particularly as Burgess jumped that 5.40 as a 17 year old and only improved 35 cm in the next 6 years...

    Skipper went 5.75 as a 19 yo (and 5.37at 17) but has only added 5cm since (he's now 23.5)

Not sure the evidence stacks up for your claim. Here's Hooker's career progression (season bests - he was born July 16, 1982)):

    2008 6.00 Perth 27/01/2008 (3rd WIC)
    2007 5.91 Perth 07/01/2007 (9th WC, 3rd WAF)
    2006 5.96 Berlin 03/09/2006 (1st World Cup, 1st Comm Games, 4th WAF)
    2005 5.87 Melbourne 12/03/2005 (dnq @ WC)
    2004 5.65 Perth 22/02/2004 (dnq @ OG)
    2003 5.10 Daegu 28/08/2003
    2002 5.35 Melbourne 26/10/2002
    2001 5.30 Brisbane 25/03/2001

Has anyone seen accurate results from the open men's pole vault? The results posted are incomplete, a number of those guys cleared 5.40.

Or I guess a better question is who would I email to have check the original results sheet and get all of the results typed in, because right now it looks like someone spaced out after entering the attempts 5.25.
