  • Is JW in trouble

As I posted on an earlier thread if JW does not get that hamstring problem fixed he aint goin to be winning against LM this season. Plus the US Champs are approaching fast and Merrit is already approaching 44 flat. Hopefully JW will be better by then but I am not sure how well he will perform at the Adidas Track Classic in a weeks time with his hammy bothering him.

This might just be the year that everything is new --- A new coach; a new injury; and a new champion-LM. I hope against it but IF he cant get this under control thats the way it will end up. I'am in a pessimistic mood with a tinge of optimism. :?:

Nah! JW's injury probably is nothing more than a twinge. Why risk it just for a 200M training session? JW will have no real threat this year. Start pouring the Gold!

Not really - Wariner has had hamstring issues off and on since he initially injured it in 2004. As I mentioned before, once you have one it never completely goes away, and is always waiting for the opportunity to become a problem again. He needs to be very careful, as it appears he is, because nothing really matters right now anyway. This situation bears watching though.

Qutoe from Wariner after his race in Waco earlier this year:

“Coming out of the blocks out of the blocks I felt a little tightness in my hamstring that has been nagging me since the Texas Relays two weeks ago,” Wariner said. “I should be alright and ready to go at the Penn Relays next week.

This nagging injury could be a problem for him this year; but hopefully not.
