  • The Belgian Harrisons?

I noticed on Tilastopaja that these two lads have entered the 400m Top 20 for 2008:

    45.35 Kevin Borlee BEL (d.o.b. 22 Feb 88) 1r1 Bruxelles 4 May
    45.47 Jonathan Borlee BEL (d.o.b. 22 Feb 88) 2r1 Bruxelles 4 May

Previously Jonathan had the better PR (46.06 from 2006 vs Kevin 46.38 from 2007).

Let's see if this combo can head into the strata of the Harrison twins in this event (ignoring subsequent disgraces of said duo).

Looks like boys have an older sister who is handy too:

Olivia Borlee BEL (Date of Birth 10/04/1986):
    PRs: 11.39 (2007), 22.98 (2006)

The dynasty doesn't stop there. Both mum and dad (Jacques Borlée and Edith Demartelaere) won multiple national titles in the eighties. Dad also has a silver from the European Indoors in 1983 in the 200m and acts as their coach.

They're hoping to qualify for the Olympics in the next couple of weeks in the relay.

BTW sister was part of the Belgian 4x100 relay team that won a bronze in Osaka.

Olivia is a star on the rise. She competes on the 4x100m team with Gavaert. Nice gal, but shy at the on-set.

EXACTLY- the Harrisons are dirty drug cheats first and Twins second! Any comparisons are insulting IMHO!

"We were homeless and lived in a clapped out car" etc etc etc

Yeah guys, kept the drugs in the glove compartment then?

I was actually running with the "young, male, 400m running twins with very close PRs making exciting progress in an Olympic year" - angle...
