WOW... it was Igor Potapovich who introduced me to Oleg! Igor will remember me. I met him on a flight from Bratislava to Moscow. Igor and Oleg were teammates and good friends at the time and I am certain that Igor will be willing to help if he can. He may still know how to contact Oleg after all these years - I have tried to find him on the internet but have failed, and the nordic sport website is down. *Sigh*

      Uncle Zadok,
Thanks for those suggestions. I will email Ted Rall and direct him to this forum. I found out who Willie Banks is (you are talking to a figure skater here) and agree with you that he may know Oleg... is anyone in contact with Willie? Last I knew Oleg did not speak English, but that may have changed. My guess is that he is still in Kazakhstan.

Count me on your side Zvezda. I really do hope this has a happy ending. Do let us all know.
Thank you. Me too, and I will.

Update for Everybody: I am trying another tactic and have posted a profile on odnoklassniki.ru which is an equivilent of classmates.com - hopefully somebody who knows Oleg will see that I am looking for him. I speak very little Russian and so have been studying a lot lately in the hopes I get to use it!

I also want to tell everyone who has posted on this forum that I really appreciate all of the help and support you are giving! I will not give up the search, and I am scared to death of how this story will unfold...

              LOL! Funny guy.

Believe it or not, we resorted to the dictionary. I will never forget the look on his face which had turned *beet red* when I kissed him for the first time - on the cheek - when we said goodbye!
