After seeing her significant 10.93 100m PR I'm wondering what Allyson Felix will do in the 200m this year. Probably the 21.34 WR is safe, but wouldn't be surprised to see her run somewhere between 21.50 and 21.70. But, actually I'd like to see what she could do in the 400 if she really trained for the endurance part of it.....low 48's easily.

Anything under 21.7 will take a pretty good wind. So far, she has been having AP's luck with the wind, not TG's. Her top marks are close to the 2.0 and you cannot count on that in the big competitions that produce the top times.

Yes she did run 49.83 after her 10.93 but that is slower than her 49.70 that she ran after her 100m last year. Has anyone (other than Marion Jones) in history broken 22 in May? I think she'll win by a country mile but not sure she will do anything within 0.15 of her PB.
Part me hopes I am proven wrong of course!

The wind definately helped in Osaka and we cant forget she didnt enter the 100m either. But we also have to aknowledge the distance between her and her competitors. However, on that I would say it's obvious that since Athens Campbell has been concentrating more on the 100m, there was no Simpson in Osaka and for whatever reason Richards grossly under performed. Come Beijing and I expect Campbell will not be so far back and we hope Simpson wil be back to her 2006 form (her 11.09 behind Felix was a great starter to the GP season) We also now have a potential threat in Muna Lee, who knows.
Now, that all into consideration, Felix runs with such poise, relaxtion and style, has this strength from God knows where and now even better speed, I cant see her being beaten over 200m in Beijing unless the 100m take smore out of her than expected (if she does the 100m) If she just does the 200m the gold must surely be hers. As for the time, if she doubles up I think she'll be around 21.9-22.1. If she just does the 200m 21.8-22.0 depending on wind. If she has a strong wind behind her then 21.7 is definately posisble.
