That's more than a little surprising!
And as for Bernard Williams, the olympic silver medalist what's his excuse for suddenly becoming nothing more than a 20.9 man!?
Crawford the reigning champion has been half a second slower since his camp was busted and the bronze medalist well all know what happened to him. That clean sweep in Athens turned out to be such an "amazing" achievement! Hope this years podium is a little more worthwhile!

Nice double for Taylor
England was fairly impressive. The field was out in 63 point.
Not a ton of great marks. There were a couple come backing athletes who competed without significant distinction. Jacqua Williams of Georgia Tech is an interesting story. Besides being a solid T&F athlete she is also one of the best defensive basketball players in the ACC. Her basketball season ended in mid-March and now she has qualified for Regionals in the 100, 200, and 4x100.

I wonder if both Dix and Padgett ran very much under control not wanting to risk too much. Dix from ham issues and Padgett trying to race and hit a decent speed yet not wanting to stress his CNS too much after a huge 100m pr. Not being able to view the race I wonder if both or at least one of them might have tried to run a very controlled acceleration. This, while avoiding too high of a max. velocity for that distance in order to minimize the intensity or stress recieved from the race yet benefitting from the stimulation of a quality race.

Dix did appear to run his heat very much under control(limited the distance he accelerated to/the max. velocity he hit for that race)and only tried to hit another gear later in the race. I definitely believe he wanted to take very little risk in his performance.

A classic glass half full or half empty reaction I see. While many seem to be weeping and moaning over the Dix time and how "slow" it is, my reaction on seeing it was YES! Nobody runs 20,90 with a hamstring that still has serious problems. To me this was a strongly positive sign that we'll see one of the world's best sprinters at somethig approaching top form by the time OT rolls around.
