May be did he preserve himself for a sub-45" 400m...(and why not a 44"50 ?)
      Let's wait and see...

What happened? Did "X - Man" have false start problems? Did he pull up with a hamstring as Dix did in April?

"X - Man" was 0.25 sec. ahead of Rodney Martin in Adidas 200. Why was he 0.16 behind in 100?
        none

I see X did really win the 400 in 44.70; I thought the poster on the other thread was kidding!

Why are no results being posted online? Both the IAAF site and the Rebok GP site are not being updated.

I just changed URLs on the front page; see if that's better than what you've been trying

Carter is definitely running the 200 at the Olympic Trials, but he may opt for the 400 instead of the 100. In an article in the New York Daily News, Carter says they have not decided.

Heard X just use the 100 as a warm up. He is still looking at his options with the 200 & 400. 44.70 without being pressed is good. I think he is listed for the 200 at Pre.

X looked like he hurt something running the 100, his last 15 or 20 meters he ran with a grimace on his face and slightly limped after the finish of the race. I think it was a minor cramp.

He looked much better during his 400, although he didnt tie up ytou could tell his last 150 wasnt as comfortable as he would have liked it to be. I think He has LOTS of room for improvement in the 400 which is downright scary.

I really think he should probably scrap the 100. Just my opinion.

I agree with one caveat -- he should race as often as possible. He is entered in the Pre 200 & I read that he is trying to enter the 100. I hope that he succceeds. I also hope that he runs the 300 at Ostrava vs. Wariner, etc.

He should run the OT 100 for speed work. He finished 11 races in 2007 after 66 races in 2006. IF he wins his heat, quarter & semi he might scratch the OT 400. Best case -- he makes the team in both & decides after July European races.

Unfortunately, the fourth-placer in either event likely stays home, as the visa process to Beijing will take more time than is available after july. I believe that is one of the forces behind the decision to name the USA team at the conclusion of the OT.

X should have been in Berlin. He might have cranked out a 44.2x watching Merritt run Wariner down.

As the alternate, wouldn't they be processed at the same point, especially since there is the relay pool.
