Interesting factoid: the 44.70 at Reebok was his second fastest ever; PR 44.53 at '06 NCAA.

10.28 for X - Man at Reebok

He looked much better during his 400, although he didnt tie up ytou could tell his last 150 wasnt as comfortable as he would have liked it to be. I think He has LOTS of room for improvement in the 400 which is downright scary.
I really think he should probably scrap the 100. Just my opinion.
He MIGHT have a minor injury which puts him at 90% for 100, 99% for 200 & 100% for 400. Because (with the obvious exception of Gay) Men's 100 is so problematic, 2nd place at OT 100 final might be 0.30 sec behind Gay, so I would have preferred that he run 100.
Taylor is about 0.7 sec slower than May 2007 & Larry ran poorly after nationals in 2007, so US MIGHT do best with Wariner, Merritt & X - Man in 400 with Gay, Spearmon & Dix in 200.
Of course, this will be irrelevant if X - Man defeats Speasrmon in the Pre 200!!none

I agree X should also go after the 400. His 44.70 is his second fastest time ever and we are still 3 weeks out. The 3rd spot would be between X, Taylor, and Larry.

I agree with the above while adding these caveats:
1. Taylor makes 400 semis. IF he makes 400H finals he will have 24 minutes to recover & run about 45.67 to make 400 semis. This is possible, not probable the way he is running now
2. X doesn't run 100. IF the weather is hot (it was 97F at 1972 OT at Eugene), X runs 100 heat, quarter, semi & makes final because (God forbid) most of the favorites are injured, he might make the team. I estimate this as a 1% probability.
3. X enters all 3 sprints, BUT I hope that he only runs 100 in the event of HOT weather & poor performances at NCAA by Dix, Padgett, Holliday & Samuels (God forbid again).
4. His poor 100 race was related to a cramp caused by cold weather. IF he is bothered by cold weather, I withdraw my prior suggestion that he should race as often as possible.
5. IF he makes OG in 400 or 200, he will have plenty of chances to run 100s in Europe before & after OG. In fact, he could run 100s in Asia in the Fall.
Based on the above, we could see a men's 400 at OT that is better than OG. In fact, the men's 200 at OT could also be better than OG.
I can't wait for Pre, NCAA & OT!!none
