Can Breaux Greer Throw 100m?

I have nothing against Greer, he is a great athlete, and I sincerely wish he will be able to challenge Pitkämäki (even though I’m Finnish) and Thorkildssen. But too much is too much. Zelezny is without doubt the greatest javelin thrower ever (since Matti Järvinen), and in his best years was way above the level of the current top throwers. Even for him, the WR throw of 98.48 was phenomenal, as his second best is "only" 95.66. None else (but Räty with the rough tailed javelin and Hohn with the old model) has ever come even close to those marks.

I would start with 93m as the next realistic target. 95m would already be absolutely outstanding. In ideal conditions, Pitkämäki, and maybe also Thorkildssen, might be able to reach 95m with a perfect throw, but I would not put my money on the others.

Unfortunately, at this point I would have to say that time and all his injuries are against him. So my answer would have to be................"No"

Correct - and 90.70m in Bislett in 1985 - my god I feel old!

Looks like Breaux is going to open this year at the Trials. Hope the Gladiator thing hasn't taken away training time. Maybe Breaux will have his best throw at the Olympic Games.
