This kid is a junior?!!!! You gotta be kidding me. And I thought Jelimo was amazing (she is). These kids are tearing down barriers in the 800m like it were an everyday thing. Just incredible.

Very impressive but what an ugly runner!! Looks like he's boxing!

He "should" be able to break 1:42 by the end of the season on that performance, though he had quite even splits (24.2, 26.4, 26.4 & 25.7) so it's sometimes difficult to tell.
The last 200m in 25.7 and the last 100m in 12.8 are exceptionally good. He doesn't look 18 though!!? Is he really that young!? He's got the face of a 30 year old, and I'm always suspicious of african athlete's d.o.b. They couldn't even decide whether Kipketer was born in 1970 or 72.

He went through 400m in exactly the same time (50.6) as Coe did almost 30 years ago on a slower track but didn't beat Coe's stadium record. Shows how good that solo performance was.

If his age is true and he continues to improve this season, he should be a future record holder. Lets see how he lasts over 3 or 4 rounds first.

Long way to WR still. I'm less optimistic, but I wish you are correct.

my hopes is that he is behind a good coach and management team!

I hope he dabbles in the 1500 some more as well. Possibly find that as his stick.

he is already becoming a super star! can't wait to see what becomes.
