No, she jumped into the pit not up.

This was the third time I've seen Vlasic outdoors this season and she is not getting the height she was last year....hopefully because she knows she can jump 2.03 -2.05m and win easily, so is still training fairly hard between competitions.

Squackee is spot on - she's LJing right now and looks like she's taking off a few inches further out than 2007 (that's just a guess...)

I just wish Hellebaut would get back to her best shape. Her final 1'98 attempt was more like the Tia of old. Hopefully by Beijing she will be 2'03 again.


Vlasic may have put on a little (and I mean little) bit of weight compared to last year. I think her WR attempts will look better in the next month for reasons outlined by above poster.

Vlasic's last defeat was last year in Oslo and since then, she has only failed not to jump 2m+ in one competition, and that was on a cold and wet night in Zagreb!

Harry Edletzberger (Blanka's manager) said few days ago that Slesarenko will open her season at Znamensky Memorial (15.6.). He also said "...they (organizers) didn't invite Blanka!..."

I've been watching the tapes now and at 2.01 and 2,04 I don't think we can say she was "Long jumping". She is still vertical when leaving the ground and I thought her take-off was where it should be. I did not see the 2.10 attempt which might have been very different. I simply think she is not in shape yet to try for the WR. Should have attempted 2.07 or 2.08.

It seems to me that her plant might be even more parallel than last year.

So are you implying that she has had sex with at least three different men in the last couple of months? Seems to me that your hard line on drug accusations does not carry over to other accusations. Cute attempt at a joke, but not quite appropriate, in my opinion.
