If they end up in Paris together in the 200 final, it may well play out this way.

MSN makes a pretty good software. I would be surprised if Felix made the team. Right now I would predict Jones, White and Edwards.

Will be tough for Felix to make this team ... Last year Marion Jones was on maternity leave ... And Michelle Collins (who looked ready to go sub 22 last year) was injured during the outdoor season ... Add them to White and Edwards and add the fact that at least one person makes a major emergence in an Olympic year and you have one tough team to make !!!

I am optimistic about Allyson Felix for the following reasons:

She peaked early last year and was tired at the end of a long season. Evelyn Ashford was like this early in her career - '77 US Nationals, 22.62AR, but only 23.4 by the time the World Cup came around. Felix is apparently being coached by Ashford's former coach Pat Connolly, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Connolly guide Felix right to the Paris final, the way she did with her now-famous UCLA frosh Ashford in 1976 (3rd US trials, then 5th in Montreal 100 final, top American, 0.07 out of the medals, in the first international competition of her life).

One big difference .. The 200 is much deeper in the US than it was when Evelyn came along ... Not that it would have made a difference for Evelyn as she beat the East Germans and everyone else .. But it will make the journey a little tougher for Allyson ... If everyone shows up healthy and ready to run in Sacramento it could take sub 22 to make this team as Jones, White and Collins have all shown the ability to do so and are big meet tested ...

Hasn't Collins been nursing one of the longest-healing injuries in the history of the sport? Did she miss an entire outdoor season replete with World Championships, from an injury sustained at the World Indoor meet? But your point is a good one, although White would have to run a PR at the trials to go sub-22, and still peak later for the Olympics. It will be an interesting event.

Yes she missed the entire outdoor season ... But so did Kenteris and I doubt if anyone isn't giving him a chance this year ... Missing a season due to injury does not necessarily diminish your chances ... In some cases it can be a good thing allowing one to heal up and enter the Olympic year totally healthy and ready to give their best ...

The 200 is my favorite sprint event, so let the racing begin!

If we were making the most unrealistic predictions then you would win. Miller was done two years ago.
