A little disappointing that Addy could not get more than 1200 points for the last two events and was over 6000 after seven events. Was his JT was almost 200 points below his SP/DT. I knew that he as not great at the 1500, but he will need to bring that up a bit to compete at the next level (he did run 48.52 for the 400 so his 'other 1100m' is being run at 6:12 pace per mile), although some top guys also do 5:00 for 1500.

On a rather sad note, Kilmartin has never succeeded at the Decathlon to the extent anticipated based on his HS marks.

And they tend to have good technical coaching and are perhaps over-coached a little. So what you get is a far more finished product than in individual events.
