Lebedeva to run 100m?

In an interview recently Lebedeva said she will run some 100's in 2009. She said her coach will not let her run the 100m until after the Olympics. She then intends to run some next year, and said if her TJ form deteriorates she will focus on the long jump and 100m.

This would not be unnatural, so I:m unsure why it may seem a surprise. Perhaps due to the introduction to the event so late into her career?

I'm sure I read an article recently when Lebedeva said she wanted to run the 100m, 4x100m and do the long jump and triple jump in Beijing!
