Richard Hymans' epic tome won't be published by USATF this year, but they are going to make it available in e-format on their site at some point next week.

Most likely to go -- 3000SC, 400 and JT, least likely to go -- 7215, with 10.49 getting (dis?)honorable mention, but even 10.61 or whatever was wind-legal would be pretty tough. I am taking the 7215 because it takes three or four miracles, not just one. Next in the 'to go' list is PV, but if the winning height is below 4.75 the next height will likely be 5.02. Other possibles 10,000, HJ, TJ, 5000.

I think the 400 is safe, as no one has broke 50 this year. Agree with the rest, and the pv will go, if tailwind.

The TJ mark must be in danger also.

Shani Marks' SR is only 15 cms down on the TJ record...

While Erica McLain's 14.60w at NCAA indicates she has it in her...

What a shame. You can find past winners here: http://www.usatf.org/statistics/cham...OlympicTrials/

Interesting. Aside from Flojo, no woman has ever run faster than Evelyn Ashford in the OT 100 - she ran 10.81 in '88.

Here is something more fascinating: Only 2 women other than Flojo and Marion Jones have ever run faster than Evelyn over 100 meters, and only once each - Christine Arron and Merlene Ottey.

Richard has taken it on the chin the last two years, as the 2007 version of the IAAF Record Progressions was merely an in-house add-on of the 2005 results.

One hopes the on-line Trials book at least includes the numerous amendments and additions that Richard would have added, as the IAAF WR book did not include these.
