All three women set a PB as did Julia Mächtig who missed Beijing with 6289, but she's the youngest one anyway. Schwarzkopf will be a medal contender, Oeser and Kesselschläger will go for the TOP 8.

I cant understand why the selectors have gone for Kesselschlager over Machtig. Machtig set PB's in Gotzis (beating Kesselschlager & Oeser) aswell as here in Ratingen, just a few points of Sonia. I really think they should have given her a chance. But as you say, she's young so has motivation for Berlin next year.
Great performance by Schwarzkopf, again showing that a strong JT can make all the difference if your there or thereabouts with 2 events to go. I'm disappointed with her SP though, as she threw over 14.80 indoors this winter, so room for improvement there. 6.30 LJing is good for her, while her hurdles and HJ are around her bests. She runs a better 800m when she's following, but a 2:12 isnt bad and she can go faster.
Now we've seen Kurban and Schwarkopf go over 6,500, thanks largely to both setting great JT PB's, I hope Bogdanova and Sotherton take heed!
