Any word on the woman (Wells?) that seemed to snap her achilles in the first semi?

Tough break for my fellow Longhorn DENBY, but man was that a quick race. Congrats to the ladies.

LOLO JONES, you BEAST! WHere did she pull that from! THRILLED, she's such a great woman! Didn't Lolo always pass the baton to Muna at LSU!?? Now they're both winners, and we could have another relay contender ( ...I jest )

What an incredible run by Jones!! Flawless! The Barack Obama of the hurdles?

The best performance of the Trials, wind or no wind. Not like Obama because she didn't lean toward the center of the track.

She sure stays on her feet!

Without a doubt, the most enjoyable 12.3 seconds of the meet for me, and I really enjoyed the meet. Run Lolo Run!

I have watched a lot of hurdles races in my life but I have never seen a woman look as fast as Jones did. Forget the time, forget the wind, that woman was moving. 8-)

If I was Carol Lewis I could find the right words...... :?

Yet another athlete who did not get destroyed by this process. This was a wonderful performance.

Aye. If she can do that in Beijing, with a legal wind, no one will touch her. I felt lousy for JoJo hitting the 4th hurdle. Her absence, along with Michelle Perry's, opens the door for Susanna Kallur to challenge Lolo and possibly Josephine Onyia. I don't see anyone else out there with the possibility of breaking 12.40, except maybe Damu Cherry.

I've been watching Lolo all year and all summer and she has been dominating the Golden league meets all summer. She is coming into her form with the confidence she needs to take the gold in five weeks.

So she goes from being a 12.6 runner all life to 12.29 ? Wind or not, this is astonishing in a lot of ways. Sorry to ruin your party a little bit again, but that's a performance noone could have expected before the start of the season or even three days ago. And please don't tell me she was training that much harder because it is an Olympic year, doesn't everyone do the exact same thing ? What are the reasons for that quantum leap ?

And I am sure that you asked the same thing about Kallur that improved from 7.8 to 7.68 in one year over the 60mh...
