Looks like the USATF (or USOC?) has taken a page out of the newly written NCAA handbook that states that uniforms must be made up of predominantly black material, particularly when black is not one of the team's (nation's) colors.

If you look closely, there's matching leggings.

This is right up there in class with the hooded full-body tight.

Pretty dark, looks like some Batman would wear in the 100m walk up a building competition.We got red and we got blue but we kinda went black. Not bad, kinda badass. :twisted:

Thanks for posting that, Marlow -- those are my favorites of all USA uniforms -- simple, bold, easily identifiable, striking.

I don't think the official revealing of the uniforms is for a few more days, but if the pictures that were up on Runnerspace before are correct, holy cow are these UGLY.

I loved the uniforms in the last cycle. They were very sharp and professional looking and they represented the colors in the American flag well.

The only thing I like about the new ones is the old school USA letters on the front. Other than that they are UGLY. They are mostly black (since when was that a patriotic color?) with some kind of awful sky blue accents.

Who would pick black uniforms in a year when you know the Olympics is going to be somewhere really hot?

I really hope the pictures they had up were some kind of mistake.
