    Okay--okay-okay--

If you are from Oregon--then M800 is #6

Oregon law says no beer until 07:00, so the airport was dry.

If I hadn:t witnessed that phenomenom (absurdity?) with my own two eyes, I:d think you were joking about beer with breakfast. Have seen too many airport pubs and restaurants packed with travelers doing the same over the past two years that it seems strange when passing a restaurant without anyone drinking at the wee hours of the morning.

Just saw the headline on NY Times. Someone should initiate a historical thread which asks which track and field athlete(s) got headlines one day only to be greatly overshadowed by another sports person later that same day (not that tennis will overshadow athletics in the USA today).

Think in terms of MLB when Dave Stewart threw his first no-hitter and Fernando Valenzuela threw one the same night!

Forget the athletes, too, including Bauhs. An attorney was on hand to help with this non-story as well, though athletes whom he had hoped to show up didn:t... must have been for the non-story right smack in Eugene.

It:s not on your list. It was on other folks radars not located in Eugene, which seems to be the crux of your argument. Nevertheless. Enjoy other things today which may make your personal list.
I never said it was no story, but rather that in the big picture of these OTs it is nowhere near a top 10 story. If it is on someone's top 10 story list then I believe they have not taken full stock of what is going on here in Eugene over the last 10 days.

And, to address the specific story, for all of the postings here and on letsrun, not one athlete who had qualified for the 10,000 was denied the opportunity to run in it because of the inclusion of Goucher, and not one athlete was denied a ticket to Beijing because of the inclusion of Goucher. So for all of the online bloviating, the overall effect was zip, nada. It was overblown before the race, and any continued promotion of it as important is continued overblowness.

And thank you, I will enjoy this last day of the meet, and expect that a moment or three will make my top 10 list.

For anyone attending this meet it would be inconceivable to consider this a top 10 story. Just because something becomes a popular topic of conversation here or amongst the letsrun crowd does not make it a story worthy of top 10 consideration at this meet.
I see you missed the point about the national press. No affiliation with Lets Run.

    USATF made it an issue:
    http://www.usatf.org/news/view.aspx?DUI ... 3_11_59_20

    NY Times:

Adam Goucher finished seventh in the 10,000, which was won by Abdi Abdirahman in 27 minutes 41.89 seconds. Galen Rupp, who is from Portland and runs for the University of Oregon, finished second to the delight of the Hayward Field crowd, which cheered wildly when he briefly took the lead late in the race. Jorge Torres finished third.

Adam Goucher’s fate held much interest because USA Track & Field had given him an exemption into the field despite his failing to make the qualifying mark. The organization cited his history as a five-time national champion in track and cross-country events in granting his appeal into the race.
No, I belive you are missing the point. One press release and one paragraph in the NYT does not make this a top 10 story, period.
